I’ve Got Your Back(pack)

I don’t mean to brag, but I am a *great* gift giver (one of my most redeeming qualities IMHO). I’m also kinda geeky, especially when it comes to technology. So, when the man’s birthday was coming up over the horizon, I had to rack my brain to see what totally awesome, fantastic gift I could get (to match the totally fantastic, awesome girlfriend that I am, of course!).

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon it, but the internet/tech gods lead me to the Powerbag Backpack by Ful. This is not the Jansport from back in your high school days. This truly is a power pack.

Yes, it does the basic — provide space to carry your stuff. What makes it different? It will charge your electronics — dumbphone, laptop, tablet/e-book reader and iPod.

I thought this would be perfect for my man, who tends to bring his library of D&D books with him while I go shopping. Also, he spends a lot of time on the road for his job, so his dumbphone and iPad get a workout. Instead of draining his car battery to charge his gadgets, he can now use the Powerbag.

All you do is charge the built-in battery pack, then plug your gadgets in to the designated sections (there is a designated pocket for everything — great for the organized, somewhat not so great if you like to make the rules as to what goes where). And you’re good to go!

The backpack itself seems pretty sturdy. I highly doubt that you’ll be walking down the street and your laptop will end up 10 feet behind you.

My man’s verdict: He loves it! Mind you, this is coming from someone who never really seems ecstatic about anything.

If the backpack is too old school for you, have no fear! They have different styles, including a “sling” and a rolling version for those who want to carry their entire workstations with them. 😉

Bottom Line: You’ll never have to worry about being stranded with dead electronics again!

Tip: Do yourself (and me) a favor and click on the link or picture above to check out the backpack and (hopefully) purchase it! If the link doesn’t work, use the handy Amazon search box on the right. 🙂
